EFL: Illumination Technology

Unlike ordinary illumination devices, EFL has no fuse or electrode. It has three parts: a bulb, an electromagnetic power coupler, and a electronic ballast.

1. Its electronic ballast sends a high frequency signal and generates electromagnetic wave (international approved wavelength) inside the vessel. The gas is then discharged and results in excited electrons.

2. When the excited electrons return to its stable states, 253.7nm ultraviolet light is produced.

3. The fluorescent powder inside the vessel reacts with the 253.7nm ultraviolet light will then produce visible light to human eyes.

4. Inner electromagnetic design: the energy produced by ballast will be consumed only inside the bulb; there is no extra electromagnetic wave leakage, or EMI issue.

5. Area lighting: the fluorescent powder along with non-lead bulb produces natural, soft, and equal lighting with high efficiency.

 

Features & Advantages:

 

(1) Extremely Long Product Life

The traditional incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp, energy saving lamp, and other gas discharged lamp are all using fuse or electrode to produce light; therefore, their lives are strictly limited (the higher turn on-off frequency on the lamp, the lower the life).

EFL has no electrode; it applies electromagnetic technology along with fluorescent technique, and so the EFL does not contain the factors that limit the lampís life.  EFLís product life depends on the quality of ballast and surrounding environmental factors.
Our professional IC design and manufacturing ability allows the product to have extremely long life up to
60,000 to 100,000 hours under normal use. (bulbís life up from 10 years to 15 years).

Lighting source testing report and comparison curves:

When EFL is reaching 60,000 hours (turn on 12 hours a day = 4,000 hours a year, and 60,000 hours around 15 years), its luminous flux (lm) can still maintain a rate that is more than 70%. This achievement cannot be accomplished by other lighting sources.


 

(2) High Efficiency Energy-Saving

Our EFL, relative to mercury vapor lamp, has a better energy saving rate by 70%. The 100W EFL has the same luminous flux as 500W or 400W mercury vapor lamp (450W if includes ballast) inside a 6 meters high factory.

A. Low Usage of Watts: EFL, relative to mercury vapor lamp, has a better energy saving rate by 70%. The 100W EFL has the same luminous flux as 500W or 400W mercury vapor lamp (450W if includes ballast) inside a 6 meters high factory and reduces cost by over 80%.

B. Power Factor more than 98%: The traditional lightingís power factor is only around 60% (the laboratory data is 90%), and wasted 40% energy is lost during the process.  EFL has the power factor of 98% and therefore is able to produce brighter light under lower watts.

C. The fluorescent powder produces over 80% visible light. HPS light, on the other hand, uses line lighting and has ultraviolet light leakage problem; itís dark, yellowish color which is not very visible for human eyes.

D. Over 80% Energy Saving: EFL has higher efficiency and quality than any existing lighting products, which can save 55%~80% on energy cost and would replace traditional lighting in foreseeable future.

(3) 100% Recyclable, Environmental Friendly  

EFL uses solid amalgam (unlike traditional fluorescent light which uses liquid mercury). If the vessel is broken, it will not cause harm to human and the environment. In addition, solid amalgam is 100% recyclable.

(4) Low Usage of Watts, Good Heat Dissipation

EFLís implement specific technology to keep 100W bulb around 60 under normal usage condition, while mercury vapor lamp, sodium lamp, and metal-halide lamp usually can reach as high as hundred of degree Celsius (500W mercury vapor lamp bulb can reach up to 300).
This issue will reduce their lives, and increase burdens on air conditioning (increase in electrical cost).

EFLís low usage of watts produces highly effective illumination, and greatly reduces electrical bills by 50%-80%.
 

(5) No Flashing, Eye Protecting, Work Efficiency Increasing

The product complies with the national EMC regulation 2.65M. (Cellphoneís unit is G, which is thousands times more). It will not cause fatigue on human eyes, and increase work efficiency.

 

(6) Good Color Rendering

The EFL three color fluorescent powder inside the bulb causes Ra to be greater than 80. The color is soft, and looks natural to human eyes.

(7) Various Correlated Color Temperature Available

The color ranges from 2700K~6500K are available upon request, and different colors can be implemented. 4700K or 5400K is recommended.

(8) Higher Visible Light Ratio

EFLís visible light ratio is more than 80%; the equivalent index is more than 1.5 times. Therefore, EFL can produce higher visual effect on lower watts consumption and applies safe and reliable illumination technology. Not only excellent visual light is achieved, but also the effect of ultraviolet is minimized.
 

(9) Instant Start, No Preheating Required

EFLís startup time and restart time are both instantaneous. There is no serious light failure or delay time after multiple switch on-offs like traditional electrode lights. EFL does not have the issue of preheating like mercury vapor and sodium lamps, which need to be, cooled off before restart again (around 10 min).

(10) Excellent Quality on the Electronic Ballast

The traditional light (fluorescent lamp, mercury vapor lamp, sodium lamp, metal-halide lamp, etc) have power factors around 0.59, which means almost 40% of electrical energy are wasted. That is the reason why they are not quite bright with such large watts.
The EFL ballast is the work of many Taiwanese elites, and contains many patterns.
The EFLís power factor is 0.98; the electrical current is stable, and will required less input than traditional lightings.

(11) Easy to Install and High Adaptability

The EFL can be installed in any area; the direction of light has no limit. The ordinary mercury vapor lamp, sodium lamp, and metal-halide lamp are limited to specific lighting direction.

(12) Our EFL has passed international safety certifications: CNS, CE, RoHS and has no EMC, EMI or ultraviolet.
